I’m walking in a lonesome road,

the darkness has set in.

I could still hear the birds chirping,

as the walls began to cave in.

You came to me at my time of need,

made me laugh when  I found it hard to breathe.

You helped me up and led me towards the light.

Little did I know that we too would break.

I was so lost in happiness that I never saw the ground beneath us shake.

And the world split in two as you let go of my hand,

the next thing I knew I was drowning on land.

And I felt my last breath leave my lungs as I finally gave up,

only then did I wake up to realize it was all just a dream.

I’m still stuck on a path to nowhere,

still holding out hope.

But maybe, one day this dream will become a reality and I’ll finally be free.
